Honestly, the Academy Awards only exists now a days to sell movies that no one would otherwise see. It’s not about “the best”, it’s just about squeezing out another dime for Hollywood. It makes people go “oh man! that movie won all the awards! I have to see it!” And then the movie that didn’t break even all of a sudden ends up doing triple the profit.
